Daily Prospect Report 6/22/2007

22 Jun

So not really sure what went on with the GCL Cardinals…they don’t have a score up and since they don’t have a website, well, I dunno.

Memphis 4, Round Rock 3

  • Mike McCoy went 2-for-3 with a HR.
  • Rick Ankiel went 0-for-4 with 2Ks.
  • Rico Washington went 2-for-3 with a triple and a HR.
  • How the Redbirds won, I’m not sure. Rico Washinton had 2 errors, Rick Ankiel had an error and Ryan Christianson had 2 errors as well.
  • Mike Pairisi went 6 innings with 5 hits 2 BBs allowing 3 runs. He also struck out 3 but was denied the win.
  • Lambert picked up the win allowing a hit and striking out a batter in a scoreless 7th.
  • Troy Percival struck out the side in the 8th.
  • Brian Falkenborg picked up the save with a scoreless 9th.

Tulsa 2, Springfield 0

  • Jarrett Hoffpauir is on a roll. He went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles. He’s hitting .342 in the last 10 games.
  • Catcher Danilo Sanchez struck out in all three at bats.
  • Jaime Garcia took the loss despite a nice outing. He went 5.1 IP allowing 2 ER with 6 hits, 1BB and 6 Ks.
  • Kyle McClellan new to springfield went 1.2 innings striking out 2.
  • Nick Webber allowed 2 hits in 1.2 scoreless innings allowing 2 hits.

Palm Beach 13, Jupiter 2

  • Dan Nelson and Allen Craig went 4-for-5. Nelson had a double and Craig had a HR.
  • Ian Church went 3-for-4 with 2 doubles.
  • PJ Walters had a monster outing. He allowed 2 solo HRs over 7 IP while striking out 10. 4 hits and 1 BB accounts for a dominant outing.
  • Matthew Trent finished the game off with 2 scoreless innings allowing 2 hits. He had a 5GO:1AO ratio.

Quad Cities 3, Wisconsin 0

  • Wilmer Alvarado went 2-for-4.
  • Daryl Jones went 1-for-3 with a walk.
  • 4 errors by Wisconsin allowed the QC to score 2 of their 3 runs.
  • Eddie Degerman struck out 5 in 4 IP. He was a little wild allowing 4 runs and 2 hits but no runs.
  • Shaun Garceau allowed 3 hits in 4IP. He struck out 4 without allowing a run.
  • How good a pair have Degerman and Garceau been for QC this year.
  • Kenny Maiques finished of the 9th with 1 hit and 1 K.

Batavia 1, Mahoning Valley 8

  • No extra base hits for Batavia as they had 7 baserunners the whole game.
  • Thomas Eager allowed 1 hit, 2BBs and 2 HBPs in 3 innings allowing just an unearned run.
  • Davis Bilardello was bad allowing 3 runs (2 earned). In 2.2 IP he allowed 1 hit and 3 BB and 2Ks.
  • Wayne Daman got owned for 4 runs in 1.1 IP.

Johnson City 0, Bristol 8

  • 1B Charles Pelt was the only player to reach base twice with 2 singles.
  • David Peralta allowed 6 runs in 3.1 IP. Ouch.
  • Mark Diapolous allowed 2 unearned runs in 3.2 innings of relief with 2 wild pitches.
  • In 2 IP, Dylan Gonzalez struck out 3 in 2 innings.

New look (NM, Red Alert is back in full effect)

22 Jun

Alright, what’s the verdict everyone? Like it, don’t like it? I found the other design too busy and I was sick of “red alert”. This seems much easier on the eyes, but there’s only 1 column so there’s a lot of scrolling to do. Let me know what you think.

[updated]Thanks everyone for your input. After hearing mixed reviews, along with some bad ones I just decided to switch it back. WordPress doesn’t have a ton of themes to choose from, I’ll keep sticking with this one, for now.

Maroth to the Cards

22 Jun

It’s official. Huzzah, another mediocre starter. That’s ok, it beats a mediocre reliever trying to be starter. That’s the good news, I suppose. The bad news is it cost the Cardinals a prospect, but I would venture to say it was a C level type talent. If that’s the case, I won’t be too upset. No, I don’t think it will be Joe Mather. I’ll keep you posted and have a reaction later.
