Crosschecker season is in full effect, and the top bats didn’t waste the opportunity as nearly all of them had big weekends. Brian Matusz and San Diego had the weekend off, and you have probably heard of the unfortunate injury to Tanner Scheppers. Aaron Crow and Christian Friedrich tried to capitalize and establish themselves atop the college pitching class. Only two more weekends before the draft. Check it all out inside.

Anyone else hoping they pass on that Chris Carpenter?
Age and injuries dont make him attractive to me…but the senior sign discount is something the Cards seem to find attractive.
I was looking at Friedrich box….he gave up at least 3 hits vs a LH hitter from E.IL…I wonder what his splits are? WIth that curve you would think he destroy’s LH’s..but he does come right over the top so he might actually do better vs RH’s with that motion and the cutter.
Thanks for doing all that legwork Fewgood…its not easy.
I’d like to avoid Carpenter and Putnam at 13. I’m kinda liking Jemile Weeks more and more as time goes on. I really don’t want one of the first baseman though.
